Make the Cutest Boy's Bow Tie

by Papernstitch

A guest post tutorial from Jessica of Living the Swell Life.
They are so fun to make with your small scraps of fabric!
Although this tutorial focuses on a small, kid-friendly version with velcro in the back, this pattern could easily be adapted to be turned into a hairbow for the most girly-girl! But right now I absolutely love the bow tie look on little boys. I feel like the simplest bow tie could make even the most spoiled brat look like a perfect gentleman. This tutorial requires a bit of sewing know-how, so I’d classify it as intermediate level. Now dig in!

Spike, the Scuba Diver to Crochet

by Yarn Juleps On The Veranda

Pattern & How-To - Spike is completely outfitted for an afternoon of diving in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, (no wetsuits needed here). He measures about 14” from the tip of his fins to the top of his head, (excluding hair which is 3 “ long) & has pose able arms, legs & neck.

Scuba diving is somewhat of a high risk sport so safety is key here…Spike is outfitted with an octopus which includes; a regulator, a buddy breather (extra regulator), gauge console for assessing depth & air usage & a dive watch for “watching” his bottom time.

Ships. Pirate Hats. Pirate Flags
The boys loved the pirate hats and moustaches, though, the girls weren't about to put them on. But everyone got a kick out of their pirate ship cupcakes.

On The Go Activity Book

by Kalleen at At Second Street

Tutorial - Looking for something to keep your kids happy while on the go? Something you can pack along when you're out shopping, at a restaurant, waiting at the doctors office or even driving in the car? I was tired of handing over my iphone every time I needed entertainment on the go.                                                                            I needed something fun and entertaining yet inexpensive and compact.

Kiddie Cadet Knitted Cap                       Designed by Alice and Grace Schnebly via Kathryn Ivy

We love how this hat turned out. We wanted to design something for kids that was fashionable but not too over-the-top for daily wear. It's perfect for both boys and girls—not frilly but still cute—and stylish to boot. This hat would make a great shower gift for those friends where the normal baby hat just won’t do!
